Healing lies in slowness and nature - my two loves that I only discovered in the past few years. In cities like New Delhi and New York, affluent neighborhoods have more trees compared to those in marginalized communities highlighting the disparity in tree canopy density among different social classes in urban areas. I grew up in Delhi’s low-income settlement, Rani Bagh with daily fatal AQI’s of 400. Where our city’s infrastructure failed us in providing equal access to greenery, our nature-forward galleries, libraries and public installations saved us.

I now spend days learning about the botany around me, foraging and creating motifs with my findings. My floral images exist in public spaces like streets, on tuk-tuks and in rooms of those who might or might not have lush gardens in their vicinity, but seek a connection with their surroundings. This practice is a way of healing my inner child. My intent remains simple - to make natural imagery aspirational and accessible to as many as possible.
