I hate to admit this, but I love Instagram. There I said it. It’s an amazing space where the imagination of others is on full display. After watching a particularly hilarious behind-the-scenes video for a company’s product launch, I desperately wanted to try my own Instagram marketing and let my creativity inspire an audience and build my account. What I forgot was that I hated taking pictures and videos. I hated editing them even more. Instead I decided to find ways to market without having to do either. If you want to know how to increase Instagram followers without having to take countless photos, you’re in the right place.
Warning: it’s not that these are easier, it’s just that I hate pictures and video.
These just make sense. The information on my blog didn’t work well for cute pictures. That’s probably a main reason it was driving me crazy. I wasn’t selling a product, I was selling information. It’s harder to put information into a video or picture unless you can show results – maybe a before and after – and even then it’s a bit tricky. Infographics are visual, can be simple or complex in design and are capable of delivering a ton on info without overwhelming your viewers.
Just because I’m against pictures doesn’t mean my followers are. Ask yours to send in pictures of themselves using your product/service or putting the information you provide to use. They are just as creative as you! Don’t have enough followers? There’s a market of real, engaged followers who are active and interested in what you do and can be found on Instagram for a price. People love being acknowledged and it would make anyone feel good to see the content they give you posted with their name tagged.

I may not like taking pictures but I’m most likely in the minority. If you have a good audience size or just a great product and personality, you can find someone who has a lot of reach and they can do the pictures and video for you as it’s a collaboration. This has to be one of the best ways to go for exposure and to save yourself some agony over choosing filters,
No perfection and thankfully, no editing required! I like Instagram live because it is personal and real and in real time – you can be completely in the moment with your audience. Your followers are forgiving of the side angles, the inadvertent laughs and the nervousness and appreciate the fact that you are reaching out in such a manner. Not to mention it’s a great way to grab their attention from whatever they are doing as notifications hit their phone whenever a live video starts. You can also use this as a question and answer session or if you have an information product, talk about its applications.
There are more ways to grab the attention of your Instagram audience and that’s why I love it. You are only limited by your imagination.
